Chemistry Teacher Workshop: Building High Quality SATs with the assistance of AI

This is a professional development session designed for new and experienced SACE2 Chemistry teachers. Attendees will receive:

  • Certificate of attendance, demonstrating AITSL standards for 6 hours of Professional Learning requirements
  • One full SAT and SATs ready for next semester
  • Additional digital resources designed by Glen Arthur

Glen Arthur

Profile:
Glen is a highly experienced educator, content creator, researcher, and consultant. He has taught and led in schools and educational organisations for the past 28 years. During this time, he has been locally and nationally recognised for innovation and excellence in educational leadership and teaching. He is a passionate educator keen to build and support capacity in the Chemistry community.

Professional Learning – Intentions and outcomes:
The session has been designed to support classroom teachers in the development and construction of SACE 1 and 2 Skills and Applications Tasks (SATs) for the SACE Chemistry Curriculum.
Participants will be guided through the modification of existing question samples to the complete construction of novel questions from research papers and effective sources. Participants will explore the use of AI in the creation of alternative question stems using a variety of command terms and in the creation of SHE contexts.
